Welcome to the Shamrock Cemetery
The Shamrock Cemetery Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, care, and continued maintenance of Shamrock Cemetery. Through the efforts of our members, volunteers, and community supporters, the Association helps oversee the cemetery grounds, address maintenance needs, and preserve this important part of Shamrock’s history for future generations.

Honoring Our History
Shamrock Cemetery was established in 1908, when members of the Shamrock Cemetery Association received ten acres of land from W. B. Smith. The earliest marked burial, however, dates to 1901, and oral history indicates that some burials may predate the cemetery’s official founding.
Over the generations, the cemetery has grown to more than 30 acres and contains more than 5,000 marked graves. Among those laid to rest here are community founders, Shamrock’s first mayor, professional baseball players, and veterans of the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War.
In 2018, Shamrock Cemetery was recognized as a Historic Texas Cemetery, honoring its significance to the history and legacy of the Shamrock community.
